Montrose, Cos Among Biggest 2018 Price Surprises for Liv-ex Members

Chateau Montrose's pricing of its 2018 vintage at 126.40 euros a bottle ex-Bordeaux negociant was 23 percent above predictions by members of the London-based Liv-ex wine market and among the biggest price discrepancies of the marketing campaign, according to Liv-ex's blog. Chateau Cos d'Estournel, a neighboring Saint Estephe wine estate, was priced 19 percent above estimates and Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, further south in Pauillac, 17 percent above estimates, according to the blog. Estates pricing below estimates included Pessac-Leognan grower Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion, at 252 euros a bottle some 17 percent below estimates, and Chateau Pontet-Canet, another Pauillac vineyard, 14 percent below estimates.
