Chateau Mouton-Rothschild said grapes on its estate were ``small in size but exceptionally rich in sugars and tannins'' in the 2018 harvest, after mixed weather earlier in the season characterized by a wet winter, a milder spring, a sunny June and then a hot and humid July which made the health of vines difficult to control.

The blend in the main Mouton wine is 86 percent cabernet sauvignon, 12 percent merlot and 2 percent cabernet franc, while for the second wine the blend is 56 percent cabernet sauvignon, 40 percent merlot and 4 percent cabernet franc.
