Lafite 2010 Most-Traded Wine on Liv-ex Over Xmas-New Year Period, Liv-ex Says

Chateau Lafite-Rothschild 2010 was the most-traded wine on the London-based Liv-ex online wine market over the Christmas-New Year period from Dec. 21 to Jan. 3, according to a blogpost on Liv-ex's website.

Lafite '10, which last traded at 7,250 pounds ($9,225) per 12-bottle case, was followed by Moet & Chandon Dom Perignon 2008, Chateau Mouton-Rothschild 2005, Krug Vintage Brut 2004 and Moet & Chandon Dom Perignon Luminous 2009, according to Liv-ex. Bordeaux accounted for 62 percent of the total during the period, followed by Champagne with 19 percent, Italy and Burgundy on 6 percent each and Rhone on 3 percent. Over the whole of the month of December Bordeaux accounted for 58 percent of trading, folowed by Champagne on 13 percent, Burgundy and Italy on 11 percent each and Rhone on 3 percent.
