Veronique Hombroekx, whose background is in the food and drinks sector, has been appointed director-general of Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A.'s brands, which include notably Mouton Cadet in Bordeaux and Escudo Rojo in Chile.

She replaces Hugues Lechanoine, who left in March last year after 16 years at the company and seven in charge of its brands, according to a statement on the Baron Philippe de Rothschild website. The company's brands also include a range of wines from the Pays d'Oc called Cadet d'Oc. Chateau Mouton-Rothschild, the Bordeaux first-growth estate that has been owned by the Rothschild family since the 19th century, is run as a separate part of the business, along with Chateau Clerc-Milon and Chateau d'Armailhac.
