The 2015 vintage of Chateau Pontet Canet, a Pauillac wine estate, is "I think the best I've seen," according to owner Alfred Tesseron, who said early harvesting due to the estate's biodynamic approach meant grapes were brought in before rain came.

"For Pontet Canet, I love the balance," he said at a tasting at the winery. "The rain came at a good time in the summer. The vines didn't stress."

Winemaker Jean-Michel Comme said almost 95 percent of the harvest went into the main wine, compared with about 50 percent before the estate converted to biodynamic practices.
