Petrus is located on the Pomerol plateau, between Vieux Chateau Certan and Chateau Gazin. The combination of its high-quality location, small levels of production and consistent track record in recent years has made it one of the most expensive of the top Bordeaux wines. It routinely sells for more than 20,000 pounds ($26,400) per 12-bottle case and can exceed 30,000 pounds or more for the standout vintages.
